Running Time: 98 mins

Mewtwo Strikes Back: Evolution is Netflix's computer graphic remake of Pokémon: The First Movie (1998). Disney is remaking its animated movies using the latest computer graphic technology so why Pokémon shouldn't be remade, this seems to be the elementary idea behind remaking this Pokémon film.

Some scientists created a clone of ancient Pokémon Mew and named it Mewtwo. Like Ultron in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Mewtwo keeps on asking "Who am I?" and starts questioning his existence. But he keeps on asking this question so many times that it's undoubtedly the most annoying part of the film. Sadly, this Netflix's Pokémon remake is so boring and illogicalAnd why actually Mewtwo hates Pokémons or he doesn't? I don't know, this character is so confusing. Please let me know in the comments if you know the answer.

Dialogue writing is so poor that they literally start hurting your ears. I don't want to but have to mention that I didn't enjoy a single Pokémon fight. A few days back I watched Pokémon The Movie: The Power Of Us (2018) which was so great and entertaining but this Netflix remake is totally opposite to that with all the negative elements in it. I can't describe how I survived this movie.

The only character or say Pokémon I loved and the one who provides some relief is Mew. He's so adorable and innocent. There were some good moments too that I enjoyed. Team Rocket was funny as always. We can feel the bond and love between Ash and Pikachu. The uniqueness with which the trainers reached New Island in stormy weather was amazing and effective. But all this can't save the whole film.

Overall Pokémon Mewtwo Strikes Back: Evolution is boring, apathetic, and an unimproved version of the original film. It's easily an avoidable addition to the Pokemon franchise. I won't recommend this movie to anyone. I can't.
