After Suicide Squad (2016), Harley Quinn or Harleen Quinzel returns to the big screen with her solo film Birds of Prey, although there are more female characters in the film but most of the film is Harley's show.
The whole film is narrated by our beloved Clown Princess of Crime. Events of the film take place after Harley Quinn officially breaks her relationship with Mr. J (Joker) by blasting ACE chemicals. As soon as this news spreads, everyone in Gotham, annoyed by past actions of Quinn or Joker, is now looking for her and wants her dead. The one person who hates her the most is Roman Sionis (Ewan McGregor).

Besides all this, we are introduced to other female leads and their past one by one in a nonlinear pattern. These include Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco), a young pickpocket; Helena Bertinelli (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), the Crossbow Killer; Dinah Lance (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), a singer in Sionis’s nightclub and Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez), a desperate detective. They all have their own problems and their own way to deal with that.
Margot Robbie is fantastic. Every character and performance is vibrant and chromatic but she steals the screen and our heart too. She's so dynamic and charismatic that no other character can match her energy.

Direction is good. Cathy Yan has cleverly constructed and presented the story. Her work is commendable and must be praised. After the poor response and high criticism of Suicide Squad, it wasn't easy to make a Harley Quinn film but Cathy Yan has proved herself. When DC movies are getting criticism from the audience due to the darkness and lack of enjoyment, Birds of prey makes you laugh and works as an antidote to Joker(2019).
Watching Birds of prey was such fun. Harley is crazy but she does have a heart. Although this movie doesn't make you emotional, it definitely makes you laugh. There is no chance that you miss Joker or Batman while watching this. Visual effects aren't disappointing. Character development is an issue, also there are some plot holes and cliché moments but when a film so entertaining and exuberant, who cares.
For me it's one of the DC movies which I enjoyed a lot. With blasting action sequences and a few prankishness involved, this movie is a crowd-pleaser. Go and watch Birds of Prey, you will not regret it.
