The Purge: Season 2

No. of Episodes: 10
No. of Seasons: 2
The Purge Season 2 starts when the annual Purge the night is just about to end. The NFFA purge monitoring unit is analyzing every single activity going on in the final hour. Season 2 not only shows the madness involved but also explores the whole 364 days between two purge nights. It starts with a purge night and ends with a purge night.
Like the previous season, this season also consists of parallel stories revolving around certain people. The first story is about a gang of four robbers who rob banks every purge night. The other story follows a doctor who is attacked in the final hours and is having a bounty on his head. Another story follows an NFFA detective, Esme Carmona, who's investigating suspicious murder of a professor Adams. And the last story involves a college boy Ben who killed the person who tried to purge him just before the sirens declare the end of the purge night.
All the characters are unknown to each other at starting but are smartly connected as the series moves on. Unlike last season, this time a balance is maintained among the stories and all of them are given justified screen time. Stories are perfectly built. We witness the after-effects of purge night on individual life.
Every episode gives you something exciting and new experience. It looks like makers have heard the voices of fans and have tried to improve on every aspect which wasn't there in the last season. Also surprisingly there is a small role of Ethan Hawke in a flashback scene.
There is a major role of NFFA in this season. This season tries to expose NFFA. NFFA eliminates all its enemies even on off-purge days and even kills people after the end of sirens declaring purge end, breaking their own law. NFFA also manipulates the off-purge killing data, just to show that purge actually reduces the crime rate on other days.
This season is well written and very well executed. Every single actor has played their role perfectly. We believe in characters and the story. As a viewer, we emotionally get attached to all the characters.
This season shows us that not all people believe in the purge. Also, people don't deserve to die for every silly mistake they have made in their daily life. This makes this season different from all the other purge movies and its own first season. The seasons wrap up itself with a solid ending and there is a huge scope for season 3. The final moments of the season make you very lachrymose. At the end of the season, more people became anti-purge. Season 3 can be a game-changer for this series and base for that has already been set. There are many areas yet need to be explored and if they are going for season 3 I'm already in for that.
Overall you can ignore season 1 but season 2 is a must-watch. You will definitely be going to enjoy this.
